Adobe adds mobile, HTML5 capabilties to Creative Suite 5.5
With the introduction today of its Creative Suite 5.5 design and development tools, Adobe Systems is underscoring support for mobile devices and HTML5. The tools are slated to ship by May 11. Apple admits iPad 2 3G issues
Apple admitted on Friday it is looking into a Verizon 3G connectivity issue that some iPad 2 owners are reporting. The problem has popped up in the Apple support forums and apparently causes iPad 2 owners to restart their tablets to reconnect to 3G after turning it off. Read More

Microsoft putting ERP in the Azure cloud
Microsoft is moving its Dynamics ERP (enterprise resource planning) applications to its Azure cloud platform, the company announced Monday at the Convergence conference in Atlanta. The belated move represents a major change for the way Microsoft sells Dynamics, which has traditionally been sold through partners in on-premises and hosted form. The next major releases of Dynamics will run on Azure, and customers "will be able to move to the cloud on their own terms," Microsoft said in a statement. Read More

Adobe, Zend combine Flash and PHP development
Zend Technologies and Adobe Systems today announced Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP, which enables developers to use PHP and Flash development skills to build rich Internet applications for mobile, Web, and desktop platforms. Read More

Windows 7 share tops XP for first time in U.S.
Windows 7 has passed the 10-year-old Windows XP in U.S. usage share, according to data from an Irish Web analytics company. In the first 10 days of April, Windows 7's average daily share was 32.2 percent as measured by StatCounter, besting XP's average of 30.7 percent. Read More

Google acquires mobile app developer PushLife
Google has acquired Canadian mobile application developer PushLife, the companies said Monday. The acquisition will give Google content synchronization know-how and technology, and a company that is already familiar with its Android smartphone operating system. PushLife's software automatically synchronizes content on a phone with that stored on a computer in iTunes or Windows Media Player, according to a FAQ posted on PushLife's website. Read More
